Maui-AGAIN

I finished my Maui scrapbook with time to spare!  I think that might have been record time.  However I only did 20 pages and usually my travel scrapbooks amount to a lot more than that.  I still managed to get 20 pages out of a 4 day trip.

In t-minus eleven days I will be getting on a plane from LAX to Dallas.  From Dallas we fly to Liberia, Costa Rica.  Then we hop on a bus to the Nicaragua border,  We have to walk across the border, catch another bus to the closest town where we're renting a car and then drive up to beautiful Rancho Santana. That it where sun, sand, surf & adventure await us.  Our adventure begins there, then takes us to Playa Madera, Nicaragua and then down to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.  We're supposed to be there for two weeks but might stay longer.  I consider myself a rather budget savvy traveler and managed to put together this two week vacation for only $2500 so we might be able to afford a little more time there.  This will be true funemployment.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!  Here are my other fave pages from the Maui book:

Maui Revisited

Maui is like my second home but where I really want to live.  I am very envious of all my friends that live there.  And unfortunately I only make it out for a visit about every two years.  Last April I had the pleasure of taking a long weekend trip over there with some friends.  We saw and did a lot (of drinking) in the four days we were there. I am finally getting around to scrapping this trip.  My goal is to finish this trip before we leave for our next (20 days and counting!).  Here are some of my favorite pages so far.

Welcome to Maui, Bree was a Maui virgin!

Basic Grey Weekly Challenge

Once in a rare while I have time to actually notice and take part in a brand's challenge.  As is obvious on this blog I am a Basic Grey junkie and managed to get this one done before their cut off date of tomorrow. Their challenge this week was to use a punch/punches as a background in a layout.  I went with an arrow punch, I tried to incorporate a swirl one too but it just ended up looking messy.  I used the Green at Heart collection and I sewed through some of the strips of arrows.  I've been really into embossing lately too and finally got to use this incredibly bright American Crafts Zing powder.  The photo is from a trip to Maui we took last year.

Dilly Dally

I have been very excited about the new My Minds Eye Miss Caroline lines and have gotten my hands on a couple of them.  My favorite is Dilly Dally, bright colors, fun and trendy with a sort of carnival feel. I can see it being great for a whimsical wedding.  This layout is a photo of my niece and father, I love the way she's looking at him with curiosity.  I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy for this one.
