Insta Scrapping-February

My favorite Insta photos from the past few month. I'm sure people are tired of my Insta feed: my cat, my shoes, my alcohol fueled encounters and my nieces and nephew. I am in dire need of a trip to change that up.  Luckily I have a long weekend in Maui coming up in May followed by (hopefully) Italy in June and I promise much more interesting (or picturesque) photos will  be coming from that.

Insta Scrapping - October

I have a job now.  And a job means no time for blogging (or scrapbooking).  Between my commute (I've never had one where I actually have to get on a freeway) and attempting to fit in a workout after work I'm looking at 12 hour days.  That's a tough adjustment for somebody coming off of 9 months of no work.  But I am lucky to have found a job that pays me well.  And I am excited to learn a whole new area of work.  Goodbye marketing, hello product development.

Regardless of lack of time, I can't stop Insta-ing...

I'm a cat person (obviously) but if I had to choose a favorite dog it would be this little nugget Izzy.  I love her.

Yep, cat person, or crazy cat lady, you decide

Insta Scrapping - August

Insta scrapping will be a monthly post from now on (I hope).  My favorite Insta photos from May, June & some of July, scrapped.

My brother-in-law Eric happened to write this book called FEARLESS.  It is the true story of a Navy SEAL named Adam Brown who overcame a lot (that's putting it mildly) to become a part of Seal Team 6 and ultimately died in combat in Afghanistan.  I am not a reader of military books, and far from the target audience for this book.  The majority of the press FEARLESS has been getting is from the right and religious groups.  Myself being a liberal athiest kind of puts me out of that target market.  But that's what is so amazing about the book.  Despite my lack of belief in god and my not agreeing with the war the US is fighting in various countries in the middle east, FEARLESS is still an incredibly captivating read.  It's a tear jerker for sure and more than story of a man than a story of politics or beliefs.  When the book was released in May we had a little celebration for Eric:

Insta Scrapping-Round 2

I have been a slacker when it comes to posts lately.  Yesterday my niece managed to gouge my eye with her fingernail. However I'm not mad at her because at the time she was sitting on my lap dancing the the Gummi Bear song which she insists that I play for her over and over on my iPhone. Check out this sweet photo, the glowing blob is a scratch on my cornea.  Hurts like a bitch but seems to be healing quickly. Right now I'm wearing this really awesome makeshift eye patch (made of a sleeping mask). I would post a photo of that but the way I look right now is way too embarrassing.

Anyway I think Insta-scrapping might turn into a monthly post on this blog. I keep seeing all these pages where people put tons of Insta photos on one page.  For some reason I can't do that, each photo is a special memory to me. More Insta photos scrapped.

Insta-scrapping

Like most people with an iPhone (and now Android) Instagram is my favorite app.  Most photography purists I've talked to ind the app dumb, but I love being able to capture cool moments in my life, add a filter and upload quickly. It's also really nice (for scrapbooking) to be able to look back at your Instagram library and know exactly what date something happened  My uploads consist of mainly my cat, food, my nieces and nephew or the beach.  These are a couple of my favorite Insta photos that I scrapped.

Used this sketch from Got Sketch for my Insta-Food layout
